My goal is to at least have my desktop computer setup by the beginning of August so that it will be easier for me to post on here. Just to document some things that are going on in Kaylee's world... she now has 8 teeth! Her top center (right) tooth... I'm sure there's a specific word for that tooth but I don't know it... came through on the 19th and then the one beside it came in the next day on the 20th (note to self: write this in the baby book that hasn't been updated in months)!
It's almost impossible to get anything done here lately because she is everywhere! She is constantly crawling or standing up and walking along the furniture. She has already started the temper tantrum stage... I can put my hand on her shoulder and say "no" and she will completely melt down! She also has extra interest in certain things around the house. She likes to crawl into the bathroom and pull herself up on the side of the tub, and grab either her bottle of shampoo (which she likes to carry around the house) or she tries to grab my razor... apparently she feels the need to shave at 11 months old :)
She still has her obsession over my phone and the remote but now she also crawls as fast as she can towards my flip flops anytime she sees them. She won't bother my other shoes...just the flip flops... I don't get it!
Last night she had regular milk for the first time. I am almost out of formula so instead of buying more I decided now was a good time to switch her over. There are certain things that I can say that I know she understands... anytime I ask her if she wants to go for a car ride she gets a big smile on her face and will hold her hands up if I walk toward her. She also understands when I ask her if she wants to take a bath. She gets so excited and sometimes will follow me to the bathroom to watch me fill up her tub. I also usually tell her to give her baby doll or her little bear 'lovin' when I hand them to her and she will hug them really tight and give them kisses. She will also give herself kisses when she sees her reflection.
For some reason yesterday she was really clingy when it was time for her afternoon nap and especially at bed time. She normally lays down and won't fuss at all but last night as soon as Daniel laid her down she started crying. After a few minutes of trying to get her to calm down while in her crib I decided to pick her up and rock her for a little bit. She laid her head on my shoulder and wrapped her arms around me. It was the sweetest thing!
After sitting there for a little while I tried to put her back in bed and as soon as I stood up she wrapped her arms around me and held on as tight as she could. She finally relaxed a little bit but squeezed tightly again when I tried to lay her down. I hate not knowing if something is bothering her or if she just wants to be held. She usually is too busy to have time for anyone to hold her so the few times when she wants to be held are so sweet!
Here are some pictures taken the last 2 times Kaylee's Grandma & Great Grandma came up to visit. They were able to stay the whole week when we were moving and then came up last weekend to watch Kaylee while Daniel and I went out for our anniversary.

The last picture has a story behind it... last Saturday we all went to a store called Kixx in Charlotte to find some shoes for Kaylee now that she is learning how to walk. I had found some shoes online that were super cute (PediPeds) and this was the only place around the carried them. When we got there one of the ladies measured Kaylee's foot and grabbed a pair of the PediPeds to try on... they wouldn't fit. The lady said Kaylee has a wide foot and high arch and that none of the PediPeds would fit.
So they started trying different sizes in every brand of shoe they had. They had to go to shoes with a stiffer sole than the PediPeds just to try to find something big enough! After trying on almost 10 pairs of shoes they found one pair that fit but her toes were right at the end of the shoe so she wouldn't be able to wear them for long and they didn't have the next size up. We ended up leaving the store without any shoes and had to go home and order the right size(6) in the last shoe she tried on.
The picture below is of the shoe that we ended up ordering. It's made by See Kai Run and they have the cutest styles! We will be going back toward the end of August to buy her fall shoes. The lady who runs the store told me we would probably always have to make sure we go shoe shopping at the beginning of each season when they have the most selection and have the extra wide sizes (the regular wide sizes were too small).

It has been such a busy month and I can't believe that in less than 3 weeks my little baby will be 1 year old! I'm excited about celebrating her first birthday but will be sad at the same time. I've enjoyed watching her grow and change every day for the past year and can't wait to see how she changes over these next few months as she learns to walk!
